Special Cry

Ok, I know this is going to be the craziest video you have every seen but it makes me laugh.  Every time Rachel does this special cry I can't stop laughing.  Watch the video.........

Ok so that is the noise she makes when she has made a #2.  Most babies just cry or wait for you to smell their stink surprise.  Not Rachel!  She has been doing this from a very early age.  This is the first chance I got to record it.  Rachel.....girl with many talents!

Bonding Time

Here is a sweet moment between Father & Daughter.

So our plans to take the kids to Granny's house today did not work out for me.  I got ready to go into work and loaded the two older kids in the car and headed out.  As you can see from the video below it was challenging  to say the least.  I was able to get to 520 and head for Merritt Island.  As I started to go down N Tropical Trail I saw cars stopping and turning around.  I heard it was from a down power line so I was determined to try and fine a different route to my Mom's house to check on her.  I called her house and got a busy signal so I wasn't sure what to think.  Come to find out my Dad was on the phone to his son in GA.  I drove down Courtney and tried to cut through Buttonwood subdivision.  To much of it was flooded to get to my Mom's that way.  Third attempt was to go down Lucas off of Courtney.  The intersection of Lucas and the Trail was flooded.  I finally got her on the phone and told her what I was doing and that I could not get to her safely.  I might have made it if I went down to Target and took the back roads but I knew there are lots of low lying road between there and my Mom's.  She said they were fine and had power and for me to just go back home.  By this time Holly had also called to cancel work for the day.  To many people were finding roads like me....flooded.

During all of this I also was on the phone with Carol checking on her.  Only part of School Street is flooded.  It stops right before her house.  Thank you God!  Her back yard is a swamp but it is not effecting her house yet.  She is able to leave her house and get out onto Pineda St. So many people here in Brevard County are drowning in water.  Streets and houses are flooded.  Just imagine how bad it could have been if it was a Hurricane.

I talked to my Mom a few hours ago and she has some wind driven rain that came into her work shop.  The only things that got ruined were some scrap fabric.  Not jobs that she is working on now.

School is closed again tomorrow.  I think they are using some as shelters.  Tomorrow the weather should get better.  I'm sure I will go into work.  If the waters pull back some maybe I can get the kids to Granny's tomorrow.

Fay Fay Go Away!

It actually hasn't been that bad.  It has just been non stop raining.  The kids started school on Monday and haven't been back yet.  Not sure if they will go back by Friday or if we will just start over next week.  So far they think this school year is great!  I have been going into work despite the rain.  Today was a little bit scary driving home but I made it.  Tomorrow shouldn't be as bad.  Donnie has had the pleasure of staying home with all 3 kids this week.  Everyone has cabin fever so the kids are going to Granny's house tomorrow for a change in scenery.

4 Months

Rachel had her 4 month check up on Wed.  She is now 14 lb 2 oz and 26 in.  The doctor said she was doing really good.  While he was doing the check up she decided to show him how she could roll over to her tummy.  He fell out of his chair!! He said she shouldn't be able to do that so well this early.  Then she pulled her legs up under her bottom and again he was amazed!  He said she is doing 6 & 9 month activities.  She is just about to do a commando crawl also.  When she has enough upper body strength she will do it!  To say the least I am super proud of my little girl!  She is growing so fast.  Next month we will start on the baby food.  I tried just a bite or two the other night and she just wasn't ready.

Kids Are Home!

I went and picked the kids up from the airport on Tuesday night.  Their plane landed at 4:30pm.   They have mixed emotions on being home.  They are excited to be back but no ready to start school on Monday.  I'm glad to have them back!

Yummy!

Here is Rachel eating some rice.  We starting giving her some at night before bed for the last week or so.  I'm thinking about adding too the morning feeding to but want to wait to talk to the doctor.

Look at Me!

Ok here is Rachel holding her head up high.  She has been rolling over like crazy!  She is just growing so fast.

New Job

I think most of you know that I am back at Brevard Insurance in Cocoa Beach.  The owner of Brooke sold both of his locations so I took this opportunity to look for somewhere else to work. I'm glad to be back at Brevard Insurance.  Not much has changed, which is good.  I am slowing starting to remember how to do my job.  I am back in Commercial Lines.  This time I am servicing A-J instead of K-Z this time.

Nard Day!

So on Monday we draw a piece of paper out of the bowl to see what we will be dressing up as on Friday.  This Friday is Nard Day!  You ask what is a Nard?
This is a Nard.  He is the office Grasshopper. You can press down on him and when the suction cup releases he makes him hop like a grasshopper.
Her he is on the door.  Must be close to 5:00 and he is ready to go.
Her we are being silly....putting up our gang signs.

Jamie, Mary, Me, Kara, Serena, Bill and Holly.   Can't wait to see what next Friday will be.
